Are YOU a Star of the Forest?
Here's what you need to know!
Auditions
Singers, dancers, comedians, magicians, and more - talents of all kinds are welcome to audition!
- Where: The Wake Forest Renaissance Centre
- When: 4:30-7:30pm, Nov 17. Auditionees will sign in at the front lobby and be given a number, which will be called in order. You do not need to arrive exactly at 4:30pm- just come when you can and we'll move as quickly as possible to see all the performers.
- What to prepare: 2 minutes of the act you hope to present for the Stars of the Forest Talent Showcase. Please note, if selected for the show, the total length of your act may not exceed 3 minutes.
- What to bring: If your act requires music, please bring it on a thumb drive or a Bluetooth capable device. You do not need to bring headshots or resumes.
- On site A/V: We have two hand-held microphones with stands, two audio inputs for electric instruments, one upright piano, and technology for playing music via Bluetooth or a thumb drive. If your act requires more set-up (such as a multi-piece band) please contact Amy to discuss.
- Stage dimensions: 16 ft. x 32.9 ft. If you plan to enter a large group or need extensive space (such as a gymnast), please contact Amy to discuss.
- Selection: The cast will be selected by a panel of expert judges using a scoresheet
- Notification: All auditionees will be notified of the cast list via email by the end of the week
Rehearsals
We will have two mandatory cast rehearsals prior to the performance.
- Tech rehearsal- Jan 6, 2027, at 6:30pm
- Rehearsal will begin with learning and practicing our group finale.
- We will then run the show in order. Performers may leave have their act has rehearsed.
- This for our technicians and stagehands to practice running the show. You do not need to wear your costume.
- Dress rehearsal- Jan 7, 2027, at 6:30pm
- Rehearsal will begin with learning and practicing our group finale.
- We will then run the show in order. Performers may leave have their act has rehearsed.
- We will treat this rehearsal like a show. Please wear your costume so that you can get comfortable performing in it.
The Show
- We will have performances at 2pm and 7:30pm on Jan 9, 2027.
- Performers must arrive 1-hour early to each show to performance.
- All acts should be no longer than 3 minutes in length
- All acts must be family friendly
- All performers will stay for the duration of the show and participate in our group finale number
- This is a celebration of local talent, not competition. The acts will not be scored and ranked. We are all winners!
- That said, judges will be in the audience to select an appropriate vocalist to perform the famous duet "Does He Love You" with country superstar Linda Davis at our mainstage concert on April 15 & 16. That person will be notified of their selection via email on the Monday following the performance.
