Renaissance Centre to host “Storytelling Pajama Night” this Friday

The Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts will host “Storytelling Pajama Night” this Friday, July 27, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Free and open to the public, the event will feature Rags to Riches’ performance of “Stone Soup.”

Throw on your PJs and bring your favorite cuddly blanket to watch this adaptation of the Grimm folktale come to life on stage.

On the way to the city school, a young mouse, Scurvy, gets hungry and tries to find some animals to share some food with her. Everyone is greedy and stingy. When she speaks of her magic stone left from the soup she had at the King's table, everyone suddenly changes their tune.

The audience will watch Scurvy convince the animals in the town that by sharing there is more than enough food for everyone, and how they can have fun doing it!

Storytelling Pajama Night is geared for young and school age children but open to all ages. Promising a fun and educational evening, the event invites children to wear their pajamas and bring their favorite cuddly blanket to watch a featured theater company bring bedtime stories to life.

No registration is required, and concessions will be available for purchase.

Storytelling Pajama Night is part of the Renaissance Centre’s "Arts For All" Series free community performance series, which is supported by United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County.
